Jesus’ finished work allows you to come into God’s presence and have constant communication with Him

“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and  as a helmet the hope of salvation .” — 1 Thessalonians 5:8 NKJV “ as a helmet the hope of salvation ” — When you pray in the Spirit, the first thing you will receive is the helmet of salvation (Eph. 6:17–18), which refers to the helmet of the hope of salvation here in 1 Thessalonians 5:8. When we teach people that they can do something to lose their salvation, this results in damage to their helmet. Once a person is not assured that they are saved, it is as if there is a hole in their helmet and it no longer protects their minds. The armor of God is not something we mentally visualize ourselves putting on each morning before we begin our day.  Instead, each piece of the armor has to do with doctrines based on the gospel of grace.  It has nothing to do with the old covenant, but rather, the new covenant. If you have a wrong belief in any of the areas represented by a piece of the armor, it can become an area where the devil can attack and try to shake you from your position of victory in Christ. “Stand therefore, having  girded your waist with truth , having put on  the breastplate of righteousness ,” — Ephesians 6:14 NKJV “girded your waist with truth” — Back in that time, Roman soldiers used their belts to hold their sword, small daggers, and other possessions. So the belt was important for keeping their weapons with them. Today, the belt of truth is the gospel—the truth that sets you free.
