Jesus’ finished work allows you to come into God’s presence and have constant communication with Him

“But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:8 NKJV

as a helmet the hope of salvation” — When you pray in the Spirit, the first thing you will receive is the helmet of salvation (Eph. 6:17–18), which refers to the helmet of the hope of salvation here in 1 Thessalonians 5:8.

When we teach people that they can do something to lose their salvation, this results in damage to their helmet. Once a person is not assured that they are saved, it is as if there is a hole in their helmet and it no longer protects their minds.

The Ten Commandments were once what God’s people had to be under, but we are no longer in that day and age. Today, we have only one commandment: to love one another as Jesus has loved us (John 13:34). It is the only commandment that we can keep because the last part makes it possible—“as I (Jesus) have loved you.” The more you find out how much Jesus loves you, the more you are able to, and will, love one another.

It is important to know that all the pieces of God’s armor have nothing to do with Old Testament law or truths. Instead, they have to do with new covenant truths of today—the gospel truth which sets you free (John 8:32). The gospel truth is that Christ came to die for our sins. By that one offering on the cross, Christ has forever sanctified us (Heb. 10:12) and we are perfected forever, not in terms of our behavior but in our conscience. In other words, when we come to God, we no longer have an imperfect conscience due to sin-consciousness that makes us afraid to go into God’s presence. The more we believe this and enjoy communion with the Lord, the more sin loses its hold on us.

Many people don’t spend time with God because they are afraid they will be punished if they think a bad thought or say something wrong in His presence. This is an Old Testament mentality! In the Old Testament, the people had an old and dying way of reaching God because the more they came to Him, the more chances they had of being punished by death. Today, Jesus has opened up a new and living way for us by His blood (Heb. 10:19–20 KJV), which allows us to freely enter into God’s presence without fear of judgment.

THE MORE YOU COME TO JESUS, THE MORE YOU RECEIVE LIFE FROM HIM.

In a war, you can lose your weapon, lose your way, or find yourself surrounded by enemies, but as long as you have your communication line still open, you can ask for help. Praying in the Spirit keeps your communication line with Headquarters (God) open. Beloved, even when you are besieged by the enemy, don’t feel like you are alone. God is just a prayer away!

"Exposing Jezebel's Influence" James W. Goll, Franklin, TN

James W. Goll, Franklin, TN We are in a last days battle for the true and pure prophetic to come forth. It is a battle between the demonic powers of Jezebel's influence and the promised restoration of the spirit of Elijah. In the natural, Biblical setting, Queen Jezebel manipulated King Ahab and pressured the prophets into hiding. Elijah came forth with an authentic prophetic mantle to dismantle the ruling false power. As it was in this historical context, there are parallel lessons for us to learn and apply in our day. It is time to expose Jezebel's influence and for the authority and anointing of the true prophetic to disarm this fierce, dark force! Let's look at Queen Jezebel's background and the tactics she demonstrated. Background on Queen Jezebel and Her Tactics A Look at 1 Kings 16:31, "It came about, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he married Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal...

Building Boldness from the Verse "God Has Not Given Us a Spirit of Fear"

When you look in the dictionary the word fear has two main definitions: A distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, threat or evil whether the threat is real or imagined; and a reverential awe, as in the fear of the Lord.  With this in mind, what does the verse “God has not given us a spirit of fear” mean? Let’s start by looking at the whole verse which is found in 2 Timothy 1:7: “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” The New King James says it this way – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Based on the definition of the word, it can’t mean reverential awe because that wouldn’t make sense. Clearly fear means something else so let’s dig deeper to understand what it means. Let’s also consider the proper response we should have to fear. Photo credit: Unsplash/Aziz Acharki ...

How to Know if You're under Spiritual Attack

As Christians, we wish that once we accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, everything would immediately go well in our lives. However, if you’ve walked with Christ for more than 24 hours, you probably already know that is simply not the case. We can experience true peace, joy, and hope with Christ; however, living on this side of eternity doesn’t necessarily become easier. In fact, there is one thing that may intensify when we choose to follow Christ, and that’s spiritual attack. Spiritual attack is opposition from the enemy in your life to prevent you from living out your faith in Christ. Once you are saved the enemy can’t separate you from God but he’ll do his very best to discourage you from living out the abundant life Christ promises to believers ( John 10:10 ) and being a witness to the goodness of Christ to others.  We know this to be true because we see spiritual attack throughout the  Bible .  Examples of Spiritual Attack in the Bible In t...
